LATAM Observatory | Focus on the Governance Index of Latin American Governments
The Latin America Observatory (LATAM) has published the report “Governance Index”, the third thematic focus released within the Governance Series of the MEDOR Index of the LATAM Observatory.
The document analyzes the Governability Index in Latin American countries, assessing the capacity of governments to design and implement effective policies, ensure institutional stability, and foster trust among key actors in the political and social system – including businesses, labor unions, armed forces, religious institutions, legislative bodies, and territorial authorities. Through thematic maps and comparative analyses, the report identifies the main strengths and vulnerabilities of governance structures across the different countries.
Government capacity emerges as a central variable for political stability, regulatory predictability, and the effectiveness of reforms, with direct implications for the operational and strategic decision-making of Italian companies active in the region.
