The new 2026 annual report by the Med-Or Italian Foundation, entitled The Great Uncertainty: New Global Scenarios Amid Conflicts and Geopolitical Competition, is now available online. Now in its fourth edition, the report provides an in-depth and up-to-date analysis of the main international dynamics, within a context marked by increasing instability and rapid transformations.
The report examines the key events that shaped 2025 and the early months of 2026, with particular attention to ongoing conflicts and the emerging trajectories of competition among global powers. The sudden war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran stands out as one of the central elements of this edition, highlighting how the Middle East continues to be a strategic epicenter with global repercussions, especially in economic and energy terms.
Alongside the analysis of regions traditionally central to Italy’s geopolitical balance, the report broadens its perspective to include emerging scenarios, from the Indo-Pacific to Latin America. Special emphasis is placed on the major themes of contemporary competition: energy and supply chains, logistical corridors, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence.
