Med-Or and Kenya’s Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs sign a Memorandum of Understanding in Nairobi

The agreement strengthens cooperation in strategic sectors and reinforces the Italy–Kenya partnership

The inauguration of the Med-Or Italian Foundation’s Nairobi headquarters concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Med-Or and Kenya’s Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs. The MoU establishes a partnership in the field of the blue economy and fisheries, aimed at fostering collaboration in strategic sectors and promoting sustainable development, innovation and capacity building.

The agreement was signed by Med-Or General Director, Letizia Colucci, and Principal Secretary for Kenya’s Ministry, Betsy M. Njagi, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and reflecting a shared commitment to long-term collaboration between Med-Or and Kenya.

With the signing of the MoU, the Nairobi office has entered its operational phase, positioning itself as a central hub for policy dialogue, operational cooperation and the development of concrete joint initiatives. From Kenya, Med-Or will support and coordinate projects across the African continent, strengthening partnerships with public institutions and key stakeholders while translating strategic commitments into on-the-ground action.
