Marco Minniti meets the students of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy of Abu Dhabi

Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Secretary General of AGDA, was present at the meeting dedicated to the latest developments in international politics

Today, 10 February, Med-Or Italian Foundation hosted a lectio magistralis on geopolitics delivered by its Chairman, Marco Minniti, and addressed to graduating students of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) of Abu Dhabi. AGDA is one of the leading academic institutions in the United Arab Emirates for academic excellence and the promotion of international diplomacy, established by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in 2014.

The meeting represented an important opportunity for in-depth discussion for the students, who are pursuing their educational paths in an increasingly complex and dynamic international context. During the lecture, the Chairman of Med-Or examined the main global geopolitical scenarios, focusing on the strategic importance of the Mediterranean basin for international balances, the need for ever-closer cooperation between the Global North and South in a phase of profound global transformation, and the fundamental role that Gulf countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, can play in this context.

The event was also attended by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Secretary General of AGDA, further confirming the strong relationship between the Foundation and the Academy. Cooperation between the two institutions is based on a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024, aimed at promoting joint academic and training programmes and encouraging the exchange of skills, experiences, and perspectives between Italian and Emirati students and faculty.

The lectio magistralis forms part of the ongoing educational activities carried out by the Foundation and AGDA to strengthen the preparation of future diplomacy professionals, combining academic rigour with a strategic vision on key international issues.
