Med-Or Delivers the “HomeKit” Telerehabilitation System to the University of Jordan
The second phase of the Telemedicine Project, developed by Med-Or in collaboration with IRCCS San Raffaele and the University of Jordan, officially began in Amman on 13 July 2026.
On 13 July 2026, a handover ceremony for the HomeKit telerehabilitation system was held at the Rectorate of the University of Jordan in Amman, marking the launch of the second phase of the Telemedicine Project developed by Med-Or Italian Foundation in partnership with IRCCS San Raffaele and the University of Jordan.
During the ceremony, Massimo Khairallah, Director of International Relations at Med-Or Italian Foundation, presented the HomeKit system to Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan and member of Med-Or’s International Board. The ceremony was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Jordan, Luciano Pezzotti.
As part of the cooperation agreement signed by Med-Or and its two partners in 2024, a pilot telerehabilitation programme was launched in Jordan to support patients recovering from post-traumatic and post-surgical orthopaedic injuries, including those resulting from armed conflicts and emergency situations.
The second phase of the project focuses on a comprehensive training programme for local healthcare professionals, delivered by specialists from IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital. The programme aims to transfer technical expertise, clinical knowledge and operational methodologies in the field of telerehabilitation. It will follow a Training of Trainers (ToT) approach, enabling the Jordanian professionals who complete the programme to train additional healthcare personnel and support the wider implementation of the initiative at both the national and regional levels.
Upon completion of the training phase, the HomeKit system—provided through the support of Med-Or—will be deployed and progressively integrated into the therapeutic and rehabilitation pathways adopted by the participating healthcare institutions.
Through this initiative, the project aims to establish a scalable and replicable model that can be implemented in other geographical contexts, while reaffirming Med-Or Italian Foundation’s commitment to promoting capacity building, academic cooperation, and dialogue between Italy and its partners across the Middle East.
