Med-Or present at the roadshow ‘Higher Education, Research and Innovation Collaboration between Italy and Ethiopia’

The event, held on 13 January at the Italian Cultural Institute in Addis Ababa, represents a new step of the Mattei Plan initiative.

The roadshow entitled ‘Higher Education, Research and Innovation Collaboration between Ethiopia and Italy’ took place on 13 January 2025 in Addis Ababa, at the Italian Cultural Institute.

Organised by the MUR jointly with the Med-Or Italian Foundation, the Embassy of Italy in Ethiopia and the Italian Cultural Institute, the event represented an important opportunity in the process of strengthening Italian-Ethiopian cooperation in the field of research and development (R&D) in several fields of common interest, including infrastructure, space, cyber, agritech, urban development and, in general, the business world.

After introductory greetings by the Italian Ambassador, Agostino Palese, Med-Or's Head of International Relations, Massimo Khairallah, chaired the dialogue between representatives of the Italian companies present, including Future Farming Initiative, MERMEC Group, Arexpo, Bonifiche Ferraresi, E4Impact and Leonardo, and numerous Ethiopian guests.

In the context of new opportunities in the field of research, training and entrepreneurial activities, the Med-Or Italian Foundation and the Ministry of University and Research signed a memorandum of understanding in March 2024 for collaboration in the implementation of the Mattei Plan.

In this context, the initiative represented the second stage of the roadshow on the Mattei Plan, aimed at fostering collaboration between the Italian and African academic and industrial worlds, after the first event in June 2024 in Morocco.
