The Med-Or Italian Foundation has formally established its Africa Office in Kenya, marking a significant milestone in its expanding engagement across the continent. “Four years after the establishment of our Foundation, we are proud to announce the opening of our first office abroad — to work in Africa, with Africa,” said Med-Or Chairman Marco Minniti.
Bringing together major Italian industrial groups, the Foundation works with African governments, Italian and European institutions, and international organisations to advance public–private initiatives that support development across strategic sectors.
From its headquarters in Rome, Med-Or has already built a strong portfolio of partnerships in Africa, spanning agriculture, cybersecurity, critical minerals, climate change, the blue economy, and diplomatic training. The new office — scheduled for inauguration in February 2026 — will serve as the central hub for the Foundation’s continent-wide programmes.
Located in Gigiri, Nairobi’s diplomatic district that hosts numerous UN agencies and embassies, the Med-Or Italian Foundation for Africa will be led by the Foundation’s Director for Special Projects, Mr Umberto Tavolato. His more than twenty years of diplomatic experience and extensive high-level network across Africa will guide the organisation’s activities on the ground.
