Med-Or and ACN launch the “CyberBridge: Strategic Training Programme for Digital Resilience in Africa”
On 3 December 2025, the Med-Or Italian Foundation and the National Cybersecurity Agency presented the “CyberBridge – Strategic Training Programme for Digital Resilience in Africa,” developed with the support of Leonardo and with the backing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The “CyberBridge” project is aimed at African countries and is designed to integrate technical expertise with policy capabilities, promoting a multi-level approach to digital resilience through specialist training, diplomacy, and cyberspace governance.
The presentation took place on 3 December 2025 at the headquarters of the Med-Or Italian Foundation, and was organised jointly with the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), supported by Leonardo’s Cyber & Security Solutions Division and backed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The event opened with remarks by Marco Minniti, Med-Or Italian Foundation Chairman; Bruno Frattasi, Director General of ACN; and Nicoletta Bombardiere, Director General for Global Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This was followed by a round table titled “Africa 4.0: Between Digitalization and New Cyber Threats,” bringing together experts and sector representatives to discuss the link between digital transformation and emerging cyber threats on the African continent, highlighting the value of the project as a concrete instrument of Italy’s cooperation efforts in the field of digital security.
CyberBridge, conceived to combine technical competencies with policy skills, aims to foster a multi-layered approach to digital resilience through specialist training, technical visits, and modules dedicated to cyber norms, diplomacy, and cyberspace governance. The project targets officials from Sub-Saharan African countries equipped with national cybersecurity strategies.
During the presentation event, key issues related to the challenges of Africa’s rapid digitalization were discussed. CyberBridge marks the beginning of a collaborative journey in cybersecurity between Italy and the participating African countries, aimed at strengthening local capacities, promoting a culture of digital security, and contributing to the development of a more robust and resilient cyber ecosystem on the African continent.
