The meeting of the International Board of the Med-Or Foundation was held in Palermo. Activities will continue on 18 and 19 September with the event “Palermo, Crocevia del Mediterraneo” featuring addresses by Ministers Piantedosi, Bernini, and Giuli.

On 17 September, the city of Palermo hosted the second meeting of the International Board of the Med-Or Italian Foundation, which officially opened a three-day series of events and discussions organized by the Foundation in Sicily.

The program will continue on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September with “Palermo, Crocevia del Mediterraneo” an international conference inaugurated by Palermo’s Mayor Roberto Lagalla and featuring contributions from Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, University and Research Minister Anna Maria Bernini, and Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli.

Throughout these two days, four panel discussions will convene a wide range of international experts, academics, and institutional representatives to debate issues of geopolitics, security, technological innovation and research, and cultural diplomacy.

During the International Board meeting – which gathers prominent personalities from 29 countries – participants reflected on key questions of global politics and stressed the vital importance of dialogue and cooperation between the West and the Global South. Emphasis was placed on prospective initiatives that Med-Or could champion in partnership with Arab and African nations to strengthen ties among the three continents that border the Mediterranean.
