“Obiettivo Libia”. The event by Med-Or Foundation with Mohamed Takala

Med-Or hosted the President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, to examine the current situation in Libya.

On Friday 28th of June, Med-Or Foundation organized in its headquarter a seminar with the President of the Libyan High Council of State, Mohamed Takala. The event allowed an in-depth examination of the situation in Libya, also in relation to the complex dynamics of the Mediterranean region.

After introductory greetings by the Foundation’s Chairman, Marco Minniti, and the Director General, Letizia Colucci, the President of the High Council of State, Takala, outlined a complete picture of the situation in Libya from a political, economic, social and security perspective – providing an interesting contribution from a leading figure in Libyan national politics. Among others, the role of both Italy and the international community in facilitating the national reunification process were discussed, by also exploring the main challenges of the region.

The seminar confirms Med-Or focus on Africa, which is at the heart of the Foundation’s initiatives, following several projects launched with other partners on the continent and several cooperation agreements signed with some relevant countries.

Libya is pivotal for Italian and European security, which has experienced alternating phases of instability and uncertainty in recent years. The need to strengthen the country’s stabilization process remains one of Italy’s main commitments and objectives in the Mediterranean and one of the most significant needs for Europe, too.
