Greece–Italy Bilateral Dialogue on Digital, Space, and Cybersecurity
Med-Or together with ISN e the Embassy of Greece in Rome promoted the forum “Greece–Italy Bilateral Dialogue: Digital, Space & Cybersecurity Cooperation in a Hybrid Era,” held in Rome on 7 May 2026 at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
On 7 May 2026, the forum “Greece–Italy Bilateral Dialogue: Digital, Space & Cybersecurity Cooperation in a Hybrid Era” took place in Rome, in the Sala degli Arazzi of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT). The event was organized by the Embassy of Greece in Rome, in collaboration with the Med-Or Italian Foundation and the International Strategic Network (ISN).
The initiative provided an important opportunity for dialogue between Italy and Greece on strategic issues such as digital connectivity, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and space cooperation, reaffirming Med-Or’s role in fostering dialogue between institutions and industrial stakeholders in contexts of high geopolitical and technological relevance.
The opening session featured remarks by high-level institutional representatives from both countries, including the Ambassador of Greece to Italy, Eleni Sourani; the Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso; the Greek Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou; the President of the Italian Space Agency, Teodoro Valente; the President of the Hellenic Space Center, Emmanuel Rammos; the Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency, Bruno Frattasi; and the Governor of the Hellenic National Cybersecurity Authority, Michael Bletsas.
The proceedings were structured into two thematic panels. The first, “Digital Connectivity, Critical Infrastructure & Cyber Resilience,” addressed the security of digital infrastructure and system resilience against cyber and hybrid threats, with contributions from Konstantinos Karantzalos, Nicola Verola, Giovanni Lai, Gabriele Maria Cafaro, Daniele Mancuso, Claudia Trivilino, Theodoros Prokos e Aldo Sebastiani. The second panel, “Space Cooperation & Industrial Partnerships,” explored prospects for collaboration in the space sector, featuring contributions from Emmanuel Rammos, Teodoro Valente, Athanasios Potsis, Giovanni Sylos Labini, Marco Lisi, Stelios Bollanos e Massimo Comparini.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Italy and Greece in the fields of digital technology, space, and cybersecurity, promoting public–private synergies and contributing to the consolidation of European resilience and competitiveness.
