On Wednesday, September 24, the event “The Arabic Language in the World and the Role of Saudi Arabia in its Development” was held at Luiss Guido Carli University, organized in collaboration with the Med-Or Italian Foundation and the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Italy.
The initiative took place as part of the celebrations for the Arabic Language Month, which the Embassy invited Med-Or to promote in Italy. It represented an important opportunity for dialogue and exchange, dedicated to enhancing the Arabic language as a bridge between cultures and as an instrument of international cooperation.
The event was opened by Giovanni Orsina, Head of the Department of Political Science at Luiss Guido Carli, and presented by Francesca Maria Corrao, Professor of Arabic Culture and Language at the same university. This was followed by contributions from Massimo Khairallah, Director of International Relations at Med-Or, and Tariq Khaddam Alfayez, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Italy, who offered insights into the centrality of the Arabic language in the contemporary academic and geopolitical landscape.
The event also featured a keynote speech by Ali Ahmed Al-Midwah, Director of Centers and Programs at the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, who emphasized the importance of international initiatives aimed at promoting and enhancing the Arabic language. Among these is the Academy’s sponsorship, at its own expense in Saudi Arabia, of beginner and intermediate Arabic language courses for students at its institute.
The meeting was also an opportunity to present the academic activities and advanced training programs developed by Med-Or in various Arabic-speaking countries, as an expression of its ongoing commitment to fostering cultural and educational cooperation.
