“Maritime Security and Freedom of Navigation: Challenges and Perspectives from Italy and the UAE”. The Med-Or seminar will be held at the Villaggio Italia of the Nave Amerigo Vespucci in Abu Dhabi.

The Med-Or Foundation is organizing a seminar on maritime safety on the Abu Dhabi stop of the Nave Amerigo Vespucci World Tour.

On the 31st stop of the Nave Vespucci 2023-2025 World Tour in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the Med-Or Foundation is organising a seminar entitled "Maritime Security and Freedom of Navigation: Challenges and Perspectives from Italy and the UAE', in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The event, which will take place on 28 December 2024 at the Italian Village in the Port of Abu Dhabi, will focus on the issue of freedom of navigation to explore Italy's growing role in maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region and the strengthening of cooperation with Gulf countries, in particular the UAE. The meeting, which will be attended by Paolo Busco, barrister at Twenty Essex Chambers, Ebtesam Al-Ketbi, Founder and President of the Emirates Policy Center, Mohammad Baharoon, Director General of the Dubai Public Policy Research Center, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Al-Zeyoudi, Executive Staff Member at the Joint Command and Staff College, UAE, and for the Med-Or Foundation, Massimo Khairallah, Director of the International Relations Unit, will provide a unique opportunity to analyse the challenges and future prospects shared by the two countries.

On the occasion of the World Tour, which started in 2023 and will end in 2025, Nave Vespucci has committed itself to calling at more than 30 ports in 28 countries and on 5 continents, promoting the excellence of Made in Italy at each of its stops. The Villaggio Italia, set up in each port of call, will serve as a meeting and exchange point dedicated to promoting Italy's cultural, artistic, historical, and economic heritage.
