LATAM Observatory | “Violencia y Descomposición Social”: Risks to Stability and Investment

The report “Violencia y Descomposición Social” is now available. It is the first thematic focus published within the Governance Series of the MEDOR Index developed by the LATAM Observatory.

The document examines the impact of organized crime, political violence, corruption, common crime, and the use of force by state authorities across the region’s main countries. Through a comparative approach and the use of thematic maps, the report highlights risk levels and the most critical areas affecting security, social cohesion, and the State’s capacity to maintain control.

Violence and social breakdown are key determinants of operational continuity, security costs, and the sustainability of investments. The report provides an analytical tool to help anticipate critical scenarios, assess territorial exposure, and support the strategic decision-making of Italian companies operating in Latin America.
