Med-Or Italian Foundation: Seminar in Rome with Ali Mohamed, Kenya’s Special Envoy for Climate Change

On June 10, 2025, the Med-Or Italian Foundation hosted a seminar titled “Kenya’s Renewable Energy and Green Industrialization Opportunities” at its headquarters in Rome. The event welcomed a high-level delegation from the Kenyan government, including Ali Mohamed, President William Ruto’s Special Envoy for Climate Change; Alex Wachira, Principal Secretary, State Department for Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum; and Juma Mukhwana, Principal Secretary, the State Department for Industry at the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry.

The seminar focused on Kenya’s energy and industrial transition, highlighting opportunities for investment and strategic partnerships with Italian players in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable mobility, and industrial decarbonization. The goal was to promote new industrial collaborations, infrastructure projects, and public-private partnerships based on innovation, knowledge transfer, and sustainable development. Key topics included the creation of low-impact Green Industrial Parks, the development of renewable energy sources (solar, wind, and storage systems), and technologies for green hydrogen and sustainable fuel production. Other discussions covered electric mobility, sustainable agriculture, and responsible natural resource management.

As part of Med-Or’s initiatives in Africa, this event offered a significant opportunity for dialogue between Italian and Kenyan institutions and businesses. The meeting emphasized Kenya’s investment potential and the importance of public-private sector collaborations in driving energy and industrial transition.
