Med-Or signs Memorandum of Understanding with Mauritania

Med-Or Foundation’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania will cover cooperation in higher education and cultural heritage conservation

On 21 June, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania was signed at the Rome headquarters of Med-Or Foundation. The signing of the agreement comes in the wake of the collaboration that begun in March with the initiative “Nouakchott Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2023. An Arab magic between past and future” which took place on 23 March at the Maxxi Museum in Rome. The event was organised by Med-Or Foundation, in collaboration with the Mauritanian Ministry of Culture and the Mauritanian Embassy in Italy.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Italy, H.E. Ely Salem Zeineb, and the Chairman of Med-Or Foundation Marco Minniti were present at the signing.

The MoU establishes a mutual commitment to carry out joint research and events, to promote the Italian language, and to support education, professional training and the preservation of cultural heritage in Mauritania – areas to which the Nouakchott government has assigned a high priority with the aim of offering opportunities for growth and employment to young people.
